C Family

So we just got moved into our new place here in Spokane, Washington!  It's been amazing.  I love all of the room I have and I'm not even going to mention how amazing it is to have a dishwasher again!  Right before the move I had the opportunity to do a family session with an amazing family that I know.  So first thing after getting my computer desk set up I got into editing!  They are such a beautiful family and were so fun to work with.  Enjoy!

Pure Bottled Happiness

My two year old, I can't believe how old she looks in this photo.  Kind of the way she looks when I really look at her and it freaks me out!  She's a kid! This picture makes me happy though, even through all of my inner turmoil over it;)  I love that crooked smile and the way the sun hits that blonde hair (and maybe I'm just happy that she has hair now;).  This photo shows her inner sunny disposition.

My Sweet Girl...

Lately it's actually been warm enough to play outside! (only the middle of April;)  So we have been taking advantage!  We are also getting ready for a big move, finally getting done with college baby!!!!  This should be our last move for a very long time and I am stoked.  It also means I need to get a lot done before then so I am sadly neglecting my blogs right now!  I will try to be better though so don't give up on me!  Especially because I have some great photo sessions coming up in the near future.  Until then enjoy some shots of my sweet two year old;) 

What to Wear for Family Photos

I thought about whether it would be better to post this on my photography blog or my fashion blog.  I decided that I would do it on the latter, not one to post the same thing on both.  So check it out here.  Hope it's a lot of help!

Before and After...

Earlier this week I put together a before and after only to be told by my sister that on a normal computer there wasn't a percevable difference!  I have thought about this before, knowing that without a high definition monitor like a mac for example it can be hard to see the depth of a picture, similar to how it looks printed.  It is a point of frustration among photographers who would like their clients to see what they have done to enhance their photos, only to have them put up on dull monitors and printed out at walmart.  In the end a lot of work is put to waist and the image is never able to live up to it's full potential.

So I hope that the difference on this picture is not lost in translation.  When I took my daughter out for her two year photos I broke one of my own rules about using bright colored clothing.  The dress was just too cute and so perfect for my daughter's bubbling personality that I gave into temptation and paid for it later in editing.  The problem with bright colors is that it tends to reflect on the skin tone of the person wearing it and can get overly bright.  So in this before and after you can see how I had to make corrections to get the pink hue out of her face and arms.

I also made the mistake of getting these photos printed at walmart (being very short on funds at the moment and only wanting some 4x6's for her grandmas) but it only resulted in wasted money.  The photos printed out over-saturated and garish. I am swallowing my pride and calling in the professionals, it will be well worth it in the end.

J Portraits

How cute is this little guy?!  I love his thick dark hair and those bright chocolate brown eyes, he is one hansom baby!  We were able to get some photos with him and his brother as well as with his mama, both of them look great.  I will be doing portraits for the whole family together once it gets a little warmer outside, which hopefully will be soon!;)  Until then here are some photos of J, he is such a cutie!

My Baby is Two!

My baby girl turned two last week, gah! Just to give you an idea of how I am feeling about this I was seriously choking up just talking about it to my mom and she had to remind me that if I am this bad at two I am going to be a mess when she becomes a teenager so I am trying to be a bit calmer now;)  We had a Perfectly Pink Party for our little Princess.  We had lots of desserts and celebrated with our family and some close friends, it was a blast!  Certainly makes up for her first birthday which was spent huddled in a studio apartment in Denver watching her destroy a cake with no one else around!
